Some of the headlines from First News that made impression on me:
Do you have any idea what the most read book of all time is? Believe it is not ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘Lord of the Rings’ ! The most read book is in fact the religious book, Koran. There has been three billion copies sold! Followed by the King James Bible that has sold 2.5billion copies! However, as a keen fan of Harry Potter, I was relieved to learn that it came in fifth place: Hooray! Not bad if you ask me!
Text 999 when in trouble!!!!!
Would you call 999 if you were in trouble? There has been an experiment showing that people are more comfortable texting these days and this means you might want to text 999 telling them what is the matter. So maybe very soon you might be able to text 999 from your smartphone , and this will allow the emergency services even to track your location from the signal, coming from you phone.
The National Trust have opened World War One tunes for the public to see! The tunnels are 23meters into the group, beneath the White Cliffs of Dover. These tunnels were ordered to be made by the Prime minister, Winston ChurchHill. Visitors will be able to learn more about these tunnels and what troops went down there. We are not members of the National Trust, but maybe my parents can invest in a membership so we can go to interesting places over the summer holidays.
Expensive sugary drinks
Scientists have been debating with the government to urge us to eat less sugar. They want us to eat six to seven tablespoons a day, that is half of what we eat today! Doctors want drinks with sugar in them to be made more expensive and want fruit and veg too be made cheaper. A small can of fizzy drink can contain around nine tablespoons! I will just carry on drinking my tap water! 🙂
Big thanks to First News for the wonderful collection of breaking News t! 😀😀
